Director of Logistics

Can you tell us what you do here at Califia Farms?

The team I manage oversees all retail customer orders and handles all freight. By truck, by train, by boat, by air. Whatever it takes to get the product to where it needs to be.

What is the one Califia Farms product you can’t live without?

Oat Barista. It’s in my coffee every day. Seven days a week. I also keep some in my car since it’s shelf stable and give it to my friends and relatives when I see them because it’s our product that most resembles cow’s milk and even the people in my life who still drink dairy love it!

How do you honor your inner queen?

Now that I am in my 50’s, my health has become increasingly important to me. I start every morning with a 30-minute run on the treadmill. I’ve also been eating plant-based since September. It’s very important to me to be fit and healthy. I am also working on getting 8 full hours of sleep. I just want to be able to still hike, camp and run half marathons for as long as possible so making sure I am nourishing and nurturing my body is important!

How are you planting seeds for the future?

Now that I am learning as much as I am about health and being plant-based I want to share that information with everyone I love. I have 5 sisters and have already converted two into being plant-based themselves!

Megan
Senior Manager of Commercialization

Can you tell us what you do here at Califia Farms?

I have many roles and many names, but essentially, I quarterback our product launches. When products are approved to launch, I work cross functionally with R&D, innovation, operations, supply chain, sales and marketing to finesse every piece of the puzzle to ensure we have successful launches of new products.

What would you say is the best part about your job?

Working with the business development team and R&D to build out what products are coming down the pipeline for the next 3-5 years. Having a finger on the pulse of where the markets are going is definitely the most fulfilling part of the job. Also, working with the CEO and Design Director on packaging is always exciting!

What has been your favorite product launch to date?

Definitely our drinkable yogurts. BB12 is the most researched probiotic in the world and has been shown to improve digestive health which supports immune health, body health and mental health. All of which are personally important to me and it’s been very rewarding to work on these products. I’ve actually used our Unsweetened Yogurt every single day since we launched it over two years ago.

How are you planting seeds for the future?

My hobbies and my passions are in what I do. I like traveling, I like eating, I like feeding my creativity through innovation. It’s great that I am fortunate enough to grow in my career and personal life at the same time. In terms of planting seeds, I am planting seeds by investing in myself, being my own advocate and knowing that I can build my own future.

How do you honor your inner queen?

Giving myself the time and the space to do the things that make me happy. No matter how busy I am I make sure to set time aside to do the things that are important to me like working out, cooking food, and spending time with my family.  Sometimes that means waking up at 5:30am to get it in before work but it’s always worth it. It’s how I rest and reset.

Angela
Design Director

Can you tell us what you do here at Califia Farms?

I work directly with our Founder and CEO to build the brand. I also lead our six person in-house creative team responsible for creating everything that consumers see—from packaging, to event build outs, to Instagram posts and everything in between!

What do you enjoy most about your role at Califia?

Definitely figuring out what our roots are as a brand and bringing that to life in an artistic and creative way.

What is the one Califia Farms product you can’t live without?

Oat Barista. It’s honestly changed the way I do my mornings. I never really used to drink that much coffee but it’s just so delicious and creamy that I started drinking coffee just to add it to my Oat Barista.

How do you honor your inner queen?

I honor her by self-care. I am always on the go and always taking in information and have made it a priority to have time for myself. When I create space for myself I can really get in touch with myself and be more connected with my inner queen. A lot of times that brings me to being in place in nature, creating art, dancing or experimenting with new cocktail recipes. Doing art in whatever form I can allows me to give myself the energy to be that queen.

How are you planting seeds for the future?

I am from Kentucky where plant-based isn’t as popular as it is here in LA and I have really enjoyed learning the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle by personal experience. Now I can share that knowledge and help the people I love live a more healthy lifestyle. I believe in the power of plants and that what you put into your body is so important. We use the phase here at Califia “self-care is the new healthcare” but it’s something that I truly believe and live by and want to share it with the people I love.

 Ginger
Director of Planning and Analytics

Can you tell us what you do here at Califia Farms?

I am in charge of ensuring our production supply chain is running smoothly and making sure we have the right product at the right place at the right time to service our customers. This includes getting materials to the plant, putting 18-month production plans together, and looking at 3-year capacities for growth.

What the most interesting part of your job?

It’s all so interesting to me. It’s like a huge Tetris puzzle every day!

What is the one Califia Farms product you can’t live without?

Our Tart Cherry Juice. It’s so delicious. It’s so versatile, you can have a little with breakfast, and at night you can add a little coconut rum to it for a refreshing cocktail. I really think it’s the unsung hero in our lineup of products.

How do you honor your inner queen?

I honor her by being positive and inclusive with my coworker and team. We all want to do well and succeed, and I try to nurture that attitude and provide support, care and guidance because when one of us succeeds we all succeeds.

How are you planting seeds for the future?

I have two little boys that are 7 and 8. Every day I try to raise them in a way to build a future that’s a more caring, giving and considerate place.

Dana
Director of Financial Planning

Can you tell us what you do at Califia Farms?

Me and my team are strategic partners to the business across all functions providing data, analytics and insights to help the business drive forward.

What is the one Califia Farms product you can’t live without?

Oat Barista all day long. Fruit and veggie smoothies with Oat Barista all day every day!

How do you honor your inner queen?

For me it’s about nurturing my mind, body and soul. For mind and body it’s about testing my limits of what I am capable of. We’re capable of so much more than we know! While it’s important for me to push my limits in order to grow I also give myself time to rest and recover when it is needed. For soul, it’s all about getting outside and connecting with nature.

How are you planting seeds for the future?

I choose to be ethical vegan and also actively work to spread awareness around what we eat and how that impacts not only our bodies but also the earth and the other sentient beings around us.
