I’ve already placed my order. How can I track it?

When you’re logged in to your account, your name will appear in the upper right hand corner of your screen. Hover over your name and an options menu will appear. Click on ‘Orders’ to see the status of your orders: processing, shipped, or delivered.

Once your order ships from our warehouse, you will receive an email notification, which includes a package tracking number. Click the tracking number, and it will redirect you to the courier's website where you can keep track of your order.

Hmm. Did my order ship?

After you’ve made a purchase, we'll send you two emails. First, your 'Order Confirmation' email will be sent within minutes of placing the order to let you know that our system has accepted your order.

As soon as your order is on its way, you will receive a 'Shipping Confirmation' email with all the necessary tracking information along with an estimated time of arrival. Depending on the shipping option you choose, it may take a few days to receive this email. If it's been a few weeks and you haven't received your order OR this email, please contact us and we'll look into the issue for you.

What is this Califia Subscription you speak of?

We are so glad you asked! We’re offering ongoing subscriptions for our customers who just can’t get enough of their favorite Califia products. Need to keep your home or office fully stocked at any given moment? Here is your solution! Signing up is easy. Before you check out, select the ‘Subscription’ option on the product page and you can select to have this order shipped every 30 days.

Oh no! I didn’t order enough last month. Can I add to my existing subscription order?

Of course! In order to increase or decrease the number of cases in your monthly subscription, simply log in to your customer account. Click ‘Orders’ after hovering over your name, and then look for the ‘My Subscriptions’ menu. Click the subscription you want to edit, and in the ‘Contents’ box of the subscription click ‘Edit Subscription.’ As soon as you’re done making adjustments, click 'Update Subscription' to save. If you’d like to delete a product from your subscription, simply click the trash can icon next to that item before clicking ‘Update Subscription.’ All changes will be applied to your next subscription shipment.

I just can’t wait! May I please get my subscription order delivered earlier?

We understand. And yes, you may. To get a subscription order earlier, simply log in to your customer account and click ‘Orders’ after hovering over your name. Look for ‘My Subscriptions’ and click the subscription you want to send earlier. You'll see the schedule for your next three deliveries under ‘Subscription History.’ Click ‘Send Now’ to expedite. You can only send your next immediate subscription order "now,” so don’t try to get all three at once!

I need to change the way I pay for my subscription. How do I do that?

Whenever you need to make changes to your billing information, just log in to your customer account and click ‘Orders’ after hovering over your name. Find ‘My Subscriptions’ on this page and click the subscription for which you need to make the change. You should see a ‘Payment Method’ option. Then click ‘Change Billing’ where you can update your information.

How do I change my shipping address for my monthly subscription?

These things happen! Just log in to your customer account and click ‘Orders’ after hovering over your name. Find ‘My Subscriptions’ on this page and click the subscription for which you need to make the change. You should see a ‘Shipped To’ option, and then click ‘Change Shipping Address’ where you can update your information.

I’m going on vacation. Is it possible to skip my order next month?

Good for you! To skip a shipment in your existing subscription, just log in to your customer account and click ‘Orders’ after hovering over your name. Find ‘My Subscriptions’ on this page and click the subscription you want to skip. You'll see the schedule for your next three deliveries under ‘Subscription History.’ Click ‘Skip Shipment’ on the shipment you want to skip, and that’s it. Enjoy your vacation!

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel your subscription, log in to your account using your account information. Hover over your name, click on ‘Orders,’ scroll down to ‘Subscriptions’ and click the one you want to cancel. To the far right, you'll see a box that says ‘Summary.’ In that box, click ‘Cancel Subscription.’

Whoops. How can I cancel a one-time order?

Califia quickly processes orders, so whether your order can be cancelled will depend on the stage of processing your order is in. Please immediately email us at hello@califiafarms.com or click ‘Contact Us’ on our website. We will try our best to cancel your shipment for you, but if your order is already in processing at the warehouse, it unfortunately can no longer be cancelled.

What is your shipping policy?

We are happy to ship to street addresses within the United States. For the first case, shipping is a flat rate of $5.00 (including subscriptions). For every case thereafter, it is an additional $1.00 per case (including subscriptions). Currently, we do not ship outside of the continental United States, including to FPOs, APOs, P.O. Boxes, Alaska or Hawaii.

Orders are processed at our warehouse Monday through Friday. Processing generally takes a day; once your order has shipped from the warehouse, please allow 3-6 business days for your refreshing Califia to arrive at your door.

Package tracking numbers are available via your shipping confirmation email, or by logging in and checking the status of your order. Please allow at least 24 hours after placing your order before calling our Customer Care Team to check on your order tracking, as the tracking information may not be available from our shippers before that time.

Do you ship to PO Boxes/APO addresses?

Unfortunately, we do not ship to PO boxes or APO addresses at this time.

What is your return policy?

Unfortunately, we don't accept returns of product or do exchanges of product. If your order was damaged in transit, or if you've received the wrong order, please reach out to our Customer Care team immediately, by emailing hello@califiafarms.com or calling 1 (844) 237-4779, and we will either send you a replacement or offer you an equal exchange credit.

If you believe there is a quality issue with your product, please take note of the Expiration Date and the Lot Code (a series of numbers with a timecode that is printed near the Expiration Date), so that we can trace the specific batch of product you have received. These inquiries will be handled on a case by case basis.

How do you ship refrigerated products?

We ship our perishable products with frozen gel packs that go inside an innovative alternative to styrofoam: insulation made from cotton fibers, inside a recyclable corrugated box.

How do you ship shelf-stable products?

We ship our shelf-stable products in corrugated box and paper.

My product was delivered unrefrigerated. Is it safe?

If you ordered a Califia product in a carton, don’t worry — it’s shelf-stable and does not need to be refrigerated until opened. If you ordered a Califia product in a bottle, it should have arrived with frozen gel packs to keep the product cool. If your shipment did not have these gel packs, please contact hello@califiafarms.com.

How long can my products stay in the box before I need to put them in the refrigerator?

We recommend putting your Califia products away as soon as possible; our products are perishable and need to be refrigerated as soon as they are received.

Is your product shipped to me in styrofoam?

No! Absolutely not. As part of our mission to be as environmentally responsible as possible, we’ve invested in a foam-free packaging alternative to polystyrene (styrofoam).

What is the packaging made of?

The insulation is made from purified, cotton enhanced textile fibers, sandwiched between two layers of poly film. An added bonus: the added padding protects the product better to prevent breakage and spilling!

How do I properly throw away the packaging?

Cardboard: The cardboard is 100% recyclable. Dispose of according to your local recycling program.

Polyfilm: Tear off thin polyfilm layers to separate from the cotton fiber insulation. (Note: Exposing the cotton fibers will speed up decomposition of cotton!) The polyfilm is recyclable (Plastic #4) and can be disposed of according to your local recycling program.

Gelpacks: We encourage you to freeze and reuse.


Insulation Material: The cotton textile fibers are 100% biodegradable. Remove the fibers from polyfilm encasing and toss in trash.

Why can't I purchase Black Label Cold Brew or Nitro Cold Brew?

We’re glad you’re looking for our new cold brews! They’ll be available online soon, but because both product lines are new packaging formats for us, we're still figuring out the safest and more efficient way to ship these product lines to your door. Stay tuned.

Help! You're sold out of the product(s) I want.

We try to keep our warehouses fully stocked with the Califia products you want, but the truth is that sometimes demand is higher than we planned, so they run out before we can ship more. But anytime that a product is out of stock, please rest assured that we're working on restocking it for you. If you have more questions, feel free to drop us a line at hello@califiafarms.com.

Why can’t I buy just one bottle?

We’re working on it, we promise! But for the moment, our online store only offers products by the case because of our current logistics structure. If you’re looking for one bottle only, check our Store Locator to see if your local retailers carry our products.

Can I return my order?

We’re sorry to hear that you’re not happy with your Califia products, but we’re not set up to receive returns. We’d be more than happy to send you a coupon for a different product to try and make up for the inconvenience. Just send an email with the details of your purchase to hello@califiafarms.com.

I forgot to use my discount code! Is it too late to apply it to my order?

Coupon codes can only be applied before the order is placed. We recommend applying the unused code to your next order!

What does being a sustainable business mean to Califia Farms?

We believe that the impact of our business is a lot bigger than how many bottles we sell. We want to build the food and beverage company of the future, and sustainability is at the heart of our values and guides us in our plant-powered innovation. The environmental impact of meat and dairy consumption makes it more important than ever to find plant-based solutions for our diets. We endeavor to make nutrient-dense food that is delicious and easily accessible so that choosing health and caring for the environment is available to everyone and doesn’t mean compromising on taste.

Sustainability while scaling has been a core value of ours ever since we started, and we’re beyond excited to announce that we’re embarking on a range of initiatives to improve our environmental footprint. From improving our packaging materials to using renewable energy, from upcycling our process-water to local agriculture and developing Direct Trade relationships with our coffee farmers, we’re putting together a comprehensive program that will also include new ways to communicate our goals and progress. How do you source your ingredients?

One of our core aspirations of sustainability is to improve value for our farmer-partners through direct-sourcing partnerships. By shortening the supply chain, we can assure we bring you the highest quality ingredients while ensuring that the stewards of our land benefit from our business.

We’re embarking on a journey to develop a robust Direct Trade coffee sourcing program. We source the coffee for our Nitro Cold Brews and Black Label Cold Brews directly from farmers in Central and South America, and from the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia.      

We are currently sourcing the coffee for the rest of our Ready-to-Drink Cold Brews (i.e. all of our Cold Brew products in PET recyclable plastic bottles) through Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. The Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal means that farmers follow sustainable agricultural practices that protect forests, rivers, soils and wildlife, while being good community neighbors. Rainforest Alliance certification also ensures that workers have just wages and improved access to dignified living conditions, health care and education for their children. When it comes to our plant milks, we work primarily with one almond-growing cooperative that is led by a 3rd generation family operation. They use only the most technologically-progressive irrigation practices and manage their own beehives to assure that these important pollinators thrive. About 90% of the almonds we buy are grown and processed within a 20 mile radius of our bottling facility. And last but not least, we’re vertically integrated in our citrus products: all of the oranges and tangerines for our juices are grown by our largest shareholders.

How are you making your facilities more energy efficient?

We intelligently design our manufacturing facilities for responsible resource use and maximum efficiency. Our efforts to date include:

We built an energy efficient distribution center with 16” insulated walls, an LED motion sensor lighting system, and eight independently functioning condenser units, which activate as directed by a multi-zone network of temperature sensors. Which really just means that we use cool technology to lower our carbon footprint.

Our equipment uses energy efficient motors with Variable Frequency Drives.

We also use a boiler economizer to consume less gas in our heat generation.

We built skylights into the packaging area of our plant so that we can turn off the majority of the area lighting during sunny days.

At our plant and at our HQ in Los Angeles, we use motion sensors and high efficiency lighting fixtures for a targeted 20-25% reduction in lighting energy costs.

How are you conserving water and reducing waste?

We not only think about the sustainability of the ingredients that go into our bottles, but we also invest in improving the impact of our production processes and reducing our total water usage. We’re proud to repurpose more than 90% of our post-production byproduct, which is mainly water solution,100% of which is repurposed for irrigation on farms near our facility. We’re incredibly excited about this reuse because water conservation is critical in the context of the drought in the California Central Valley. The small amount of organic food waste left over after production is also given to local farmers to be repurposed. From 2015 to 2016, we reduced water usage at our plant by more than 64% on a per unit-produced basis. In the same period, new recycling initiatives helped achieve a 79% reduction in total waste to landfill per unit-produced.

I’ve heard a lot about the California drought; how is this affecting you?

As a California-based company, we’re very concerned about water use and the lack of rainfall in our home state. It takes significant amounts of water to grow all the food we put into our bodies. Each and every grocery item requires significant labor, resources, and water to produce and bring to the kitchen table. We strongly believe that sustainable water practices are critical to our state’s ongoing success in agriculture, and can effectively be targeted to mitigate the misuse of water that is causing shortages in CA.

Califia Farms upholds strict agricultural and technological standards. According to the California Department of Water Resources' Statewide Irrigation Survey, a significant portion of Californian agriculture, particularly alfalfa (raised primarily for animal feed), relies on flood irrigation (also known as gravity irrigation), an imprecise method that uses relatively large amounts of fresh water and represents a huge opportunity for water conservation. Califia Farms has partnered with almond growers that use the more methodical, more precise, and more efficient drip-irrigation method (low-volume method) that is quickly becoming the standard in the California almond industry. Additionally, our growers are leaders in the application of live weather and soil monitoring technologies so their orchards are only watered exactly where, and when, necessary. We have also been working to limit the use of water in our own manufacturing. From 2015-2016, we reduced water usage at our manufacturing facility by more than 64% on a per unit-produced basis. Moreover, we have been working closely with our local water board to see that 100% of our process water is repurposed for irrigation on farms nearby our facility.

What about bee health and Califia Farms?

The health of the natural world is a priority of ours, and the health of honeybees is critical to our company’s supply chain — without bees, almond trees can’t grow almonds! That’s why we work with our growers to protect the bees; in fact, we have chosen to work exclusively with an almond supplier that has their own in-house honeybee operation to protect and grow the bee population. Almond farming is a key industry for bee health: the almond bloom is the first opportunity for bees to find forage every year, which provides them with the food they need to increase in population and continue on to pollinate crops across America. Are your bottles recyclable?

Califia Farms bottles are 100% recyclable. Aseptic Tetra Pak and Combibloc cartons (the carton package for our Creamers, Better Half, Barista Blend, and Concentrated Cold Brew) are also 100% recyclable, but it’s important to check to assure the right facilities exist in your community. Please visit RecycleCartons.com or check with your local recycling program. Aseptic Tetra Pak and Combibloc cartons are not biodegradable, due to the aluminum layer contained in the package. The label sleeves on our bottles are recyclable in the same stream as the PET bottle, but please note: removing the label allows for better color sortment and assures greater value of the materials. If you can spare the extra ten seconds, rip off the label for the the planet! 

How are you affiliated with the Plant Based Foods Association?

We are proud to be founding members of the Plant Based Foods Association, a trade organization formed with the following mission: to ensure a fair and competitive marketplace for businesses selling plant-based foods intended to replace animal products such as meats, dairy, and eggs, by promoting policies and practices that improve conditions in the plant-based foods industry, and educating consumers about the benefits of plant-based foods.

OUR PRODUCTS

Are your products 100% non-GMO?

Yes. Providing consumers with 100% non-GMO products is key to one of our core values: delivering mindful nourishment through our beverages. Today’s natural consumer is looking for non-GMO products and non-GMO labeling, which is why our products are GMO-free.

Do all of your products have the non-GMO Verification Project label?

No. Some of our products have the non-GMO Project Verification Label, and others have our own Verified Label stating they are GMO-free, as tested by a third-party. All of our products are enrolled in the Non-GMO Project’s Verification Program. 

Are your products organic?

Our Product Development team is currently working on producing an organic offering of our Almondmilk. While our full line is not organic, they are all GMO-free. 

Do you have carrageenan in your products?

All Califia Farms products are 100% carrageenan-free!

Do you have gluten in your products?

Nope. Our products are 100% gluten-free. Gluten is not contained in tree nuts, and there are no processing aids or ingredients that contain gluten in our products.

What allergens are present at your facilities?

Our PET (plastic bottles) products are made in a facility that processes tree nuts, and our Tetra Pak and Combibloc (cartons) products are processes in a facility that processes dairy and tree nuts. There is no risk for peanut contamination at our production facility, and our almond supplier has an exclusively almond process. There is a thorough allergen program in place that has been validated and tests all equipment following cleaning using allergen swab technology that is approved for food plants.

Are your products Kosher?

Yes, all of our products are kosher. Our products are Pareve, and Orthodox Union is our Rabbinical Certifier.

Your products say “Homogenized.” What does that mean?

Homogenization is a physical process, where pressure is applied to the beverage. This ensures smoothness and prevents separation. Homogenization does not affect the nutritional content of the beverage, and as a physical process, it does not introduce any new materials.

Why and how do you pasteurize your products? Do you use PPO?

We pasteurize our products to ensure food safety, as do all other commercially available Alternative Dairy Products. Our almonds are not treated with PPO; we only use steam and water in our blancher for pasteurization.

Is the sugar in your products processed using bone charcoal?

The sugar in our products is not processed through bone charcoal.

Is there corn in your products?

Corn is not a primary ingredient of our products, but our vitamin blend contains corn starch and corn oil as excipients (also known as inactive ingredients). The vitamin blend in our almondmilk products constitutes less than 200 parts per million or, in other words, 0.02% of the finished product.

What accounts for the sodium content in your products?

The sodium content is mostly derived from the added sea salt. The salt is a flavor potentiator, which gives flavor in our products more of a punch.

What ingredients changed in your products when you removed carrageenan?

When we removed carrageenan, we replaced it with the natural thickener locust bean gum, which is extracted from seeds from the carob tree and delivers on our Almondmilks’ signature creaminess and taste. 

What kind of water do your products contain?

We use well water, which we put through a reverse osmosis unit that filters and purifies the water.

How long do your products stay fresh?

You should drink our products by or before their expiration date, and within 7-10 days of opening them. It is not unusual for our products to remain good past the 10-day mark; however, we only guarantee that they will be good for 7 to 10 days once opened.

Does my product need to be refrigerated before opening?

Our bottled products (Plant Milks, Enhanced Milks, most Cold Brew Coffees, Juices and Seasonals) are perishable and must always be refrigerated. Our products packaged in cartons (Creamers, Better Half, and Concentrated Cold Brew) are shelf-stable and can be left unrefrigerated before opening. With all of our products, please refrigerate after opening and consume within 7-10 days.

Is your Almondmilk organic?

Our Almondmilk is not organic. It is GMO-free.

Are your almonds treated with PPO?

Our almonds are not treated with PPO; we only use steam and water in our blancher for pasteurization.

How does your Almondmilk have so much calcium? Is it added?

Our Almondmilk has 50% more calcium than cow’s milk, and yes, we do add calcium to our Almondmilk. Calcium is an essential mineral — it is needed by the body for healthy bones, muscles, nervous system and for a healthy heart. We add extra calcium to our Almondmilk by adding Calcium Carbonate, a mineral that is mined from Mother Earth, and then milled to a very fine powder like consistency.

How much calcium per 8 oz serving in Almondmilks?

We have 450 mg of calcium per serving in our Almondmilks.

What kinds of sweetener do you use?

We use pure cane sugar to sweeten our Vanilla and Creamy Almondmilks, (and our sweetened Cold Brew Coffees, our sweetened Creamers, our Aguas Frescas, and our Lemonade), and we use monk fruit in our Toasted Coconut Almondmilk and in our Limeade. Our sugar is not processed/whitened through bone char (a concern among vegan-consumers). We use maple syrup to sweeten our Matcha Almondmilk (Grade A).

Can I cook with your Almondmilk?

Our Almondmilk is great for cooking — the best part is that you can use the exact same amount of Almondmilk in cooking and baking recipes as cow’s milk. And our Creamers and Better Half Creamers are great for cooking, both savory and sweet.

Can I use my Almondmilk in coffee or will it curdle?

Our Almondmilk will not curdle in your coffee; in fact, it’s become the Almondmilk of choice at many of the nation’s top coffee shops, so you should go ahead and steam it, too! And might we recommend our Almondmilk Coffee Creamers and Better Half Creamers?! They don’t have any of the partially hydrogenated oils that conventional non-dairy creamers use to make your coffee creamer; ours are made with pure almond cream for smooth and slightly sweet drinkable delight.

What are the “natural flavors” listed on your ingredients list?

Our natural flavors are a proprietary blend of essences, extracts, and other components of natural food materials to provide added enjoyment using safe and natural ingredients. The flavor components that we use are not manufactured in a lab — they are obtained from real food ingredients to impart flavor. At Califia Farms, we are dedicated to the health and safety of our products, but we cannot divulge the components of our proprietary flavor blend because our recipes are… well… proprietary!

How much potassium is in your Almondmilk?

Our Original, Vanilla, Unsweetened, and Unsweetened Vanilla Almondmilks have 50 mg of potassium or less per serving, which is 1% DV.

What do you do with the almond byproduct after you make your Almondmilk? Is any wasted or thrown away?

Almost 100% of the almonds in our recipe go into our final product. In fact, we have less than 1% loss on our Almondmilk products from start to finish - through batching, processing and bottle filling - so you get all of the almond-y goodness we can possibly provide in the finished product. For reference, a world-class dairy facility targets 3% loss total.

ENHANCED MILKS
How much matcha is in your Matcha Almondmilk?

We have 1.8 grams of total matcha in one 10.5 fl oz bottle, with 0.95 grams of ceremonial matcha and 0.85 grams of culinary matcha. This is equivalent to 1 teaspoon of Matcha or the amount in a cup of ceremonial matcha tea.

Where does the matcha in your Matcha Almondmilk come from?

We source our matcha in Nishio City in Aichi Prefecture, which is in the Chūbu region of Japan.

What’s the difference between ceremonial and culinary matcha?

A main difference is that ceremonial matcha comes from the youngest tea leaves on the top of the tree plant and culinary matcha will usually be from older leaves that are on the lower part of the tree. Ceremonial matcha is hand harvested, and culinary matcha is usually harvested by a machine. Ceremonial matcha is made using a stone grinder, while culinary matcha is usually harvested by either air pulverization or using a machine.

How much caffeine is in your Matcha Almondmilk?

There are 50 mg of caffeine per 10.5 fl. oz serving of Matcha Almondmilk.

I see Full Shot has MCTs. What exactly are MCTs?

MCTs, or Medium Chain Triglycerides, are fats that are quickly digested into ketone bodies which can be used as an alternative energy source. They occur naturally in coconut oil and palm oil.

Is your palm oil sourced sustainably?

The supplier from whom we purchase our palm oil is part of the GreenPalm program to ensure sustainable palm oil sourcing. GreenPalm operates the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) Book and Claim supply chain option. The supply chain option is one of four provided by the RSPO to either support or use certified palm oil and palm kernel oil.

Where does the coconut in CaliCoco come from?

We make CaliCoco with Sumatran coconut cream from mature coconuts that we source in Indonesia, and we source our coconut water from the Philippines from mature coconuts. We source our coconut meat in the Philippines from young green coconuts.

Where does the ginger and turmeric in your Ginger Almondmilk come from?

The ginger comes from China, and the turmeric comes from India.

How much ginger and turmeric are in your Ginger Almondmilk? How much am I supposed to have?

Our product has 450mg turmeric powder per bottle (10.5oz). It’s recommended to take 1-3gm of dried powder/day (source: University of Maryland Medical Center), and many supplements are about 500-1500mg. Our product has 12 gm Ginger Juice per bottle (10.5oz). It’s recommended to take 1 gm /day in divided doses (Source: University of Maryland Medical Center), and many supplements are about 550mg.

What kind of coffee do you use in your Califia Farms Cold Brew with Almondmilk?

Our new Nitro Cold Brew Coffees in aluminum bottles and Black Label Cold Brews in glass bottles are made with Direct Trade-sourced coffee beans from Colombia, El Salvador, and Guatemala, and our Single Origin Black Label coffee is Direct Trade-sourced from the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia. Califia Farms RTD Cold Brew Blends in PET bottles are made with Rainforest Alliance Certified™ Coffee, sourced from high-quality beans from farms in Guatemala, Colombia and El Salvador. How much caffeine is in one cup of your Cold Brew Coffee with Almondmilk?

Our 48 oz Café Latte and Mocha Cold Brew Coffee with Almondmilk flavors have 50mg of caffeine per serving, our 48 oz Salted Caramel has 60mg of caffeine per 8 oz serving, and our 48 oz Double Espresso Cold Brew Coffee with Almondmilk has 90mg/8 oz serving. As a frame of reference, one cup of regular coffee contains 50-100 mg of caffeine, and one cup of decaf coffee can contain up to 25 mg. For our Single Serve Cold Brew Coffees, our Cocoa Noir has 105 mg/10.5 fl oz, our XX Espresso has 150 mg/10.5 fl oz., and our Salted Caramel has 80 mg/10.5 fl oz, our Triple Shot Espresso has 170mg/10.5 fl oz, our Dirty Chai has 125mg/10.5 fl oz, Mocha Mexica has 110mg/10.5 fl oz, and our Black & White Cold Brew Coffee has 120mg/10.5 fl oz. I know it’s Cold Brew or “Iced Coffee”, but what happens if I heat it up?

You’re in luck — our Cold Brew Coffee with Almondmilk (just like our Almondmilks) was formulated so that you can enjoy it cold and hot. So feel free to get crazy in the kitchen, add a little heat — see what happens! For our Concentrated Cold Brew (CCB), you just add your mixer (water or Almondmilk), and then heat it up to your desired temperature.

How do you get the nitrogen in your Nitro Cold Brew?

Most other nitrogenated coffee brands use a widget to get the nitrogen into coffee, however, we don’t use a widget for our Nitro Cold Brew. (For those that are new to this terminology, a widget is a little disc with holes in it that when included in a can, will release the coffee and nitro combo). The truth is, we found that it's difficult to use a widget with non-dairy. So we created a proprietary process through which we infused the nitrogen into our cold brew during the bottling. Our process creates a Nitro Cold Brew that's definitely best enjoyed poured rigorously into a glass — that's because when you open and pour it, the nitrogen is released rapidly, creating the sweet-tasting, smooth microfoam at the top.

How do I open the Nitro Cold Brew bottle?

Use a bottle opener! Our bottles are not twist-off, and we don’t recommend trying to open with anything other than a bottle opener.

Is it safe for me to drink nitrogen?

Yes! In fact, the majority of the air we breathe is made of Nitrogen.

Can I freeze your Nitro Cold Brew?

No, please don’t! It’s like a beer — if you freeze it or get it too cold, it’ll lose its nitrogenation (i.e. its bubbles). It might also explode or destroy the stability of the product.

What's the difference between nitrogen-infusion versus carbonation?

They’re both gasses in the air, but CO2 creates bigger bubbles, and nitrogen bubbles are smaller, creating a smoother, creamier, sweeter-tasting sensation when drinking, so we decided to go the nitro route.

Why did you add macadamia milk to your Nitro Cold Brew?

Because Macadamia milk tastes great and adds an extra creamy, milky note.

In your Nitro Cold Brew, what does New Orleans style mean?

A famous coffee blend started in New Orleans in WW2’s coffee shortage, and New Orleans residents started adding roast chicory to extend limited coffee supply. Chicory comes from the root of an endive, so it adds a little bit of nutty, cedar-y, and spicy flavor to coffee. We import ours from India.

Our citrus juice is grown, picked, and squeezed in the San Joaquin Valley of California — that’s what makes it extra special! You can taste the sunshine that shines on our family farms' groves in every sip.

Your Pure Squeezed Lemonade says it’s made with Meyer Lemons. What are they and why do you use them?

Meyer Lemons are smooth and naturally sweet, so they make delicious and refreshing Pure Squeezed Lemonade. We chose Meyer Lemons to give our juice that extra sweetness to compliment its tangy zip and they are a prominent ingredient in California’s culinary heritage.

What kind of oranges do you use in the Pure Squeezed Orange Juice?

Our Premium Pure Squeezed Orange Juice is a delicious blend of Valencia Oranges and other California varietals.

Is your juice from concentrate? It says Pure Squeezed.

Our California Orange Juice is made with mostly not from concentrate orange juice with some orange juice from concentrate mixed in to add balance to the seasonal taste variance of the orange crop. However, we are transitioning this year to making our Orange Juice solely with not-from-concetrate juice! Stay tuned to our website and social media channels for a timing update. Our Lemonade is not made with juice from concentrate.

How long are the seasonal products available?

Our seasonal products are produced for a limited period of time every year, usually beginning in September. From past years, we've learned that we usually sell out of product by January 1st, so if you're eager to snag our vegan Pumpkin Spice Latte or Holiday Nog, we recommend picking it up sooner rather than later.

Why do some of your products only stay on shelves for a few months? Does that mean they’re discontinued?

Several of our products are seasonal, which means we make a limited batch of them every year for special seasons; for example, our Pumpkin Spice Latte and Holiday Nog are seasonal for the fall and winter. We add new seasonal products every year, which means that you can always expect something new and exciting from Califia!
