Chocolate Doughnuts

These Chocolate Doughnuts are the rich, chocolatey sweet indulgence you need. Fluffy, soft, moist, and completely dairy-free, these doughnuts are a fan-favorite dessert for adults and kids alike.

Ingredients

For the doughnuts:
1 ½ cups Califia Farms Extra Creamy Oatmlik
1 ½ cups flour
½ cup cane sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ cup vegan chocolate chips
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the chocolate glaze:
2-3 tablespoons Califia Farms Extra Creamy Oatmilk
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 375ºF and spray your doughnut baking pans (ideally six wells)

In a bowl, add the Califia Farms Extra Creamy Oatmilk and apple cider vinegar, whisking together and letting it sit aside for 2-3 minutes

Then add the oil and vanilla, and whisk everything together

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar

Finally, stir in the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined and batter is thick and smooth, about 2-3 minutes

Fold in the chocolate chips, spoon the batter into a piping bag and pipe batter into prepared doughnut pan, filling them about 3/4 of the way

Bake for 10-13 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean

Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before releasing the doughnuts from their pan and onto a cooling rack to cool completely

For the glaze: Whisk together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, Califia Farms Extra Creamy Oatmilk and vanilla until smooth and consistency is met

For a thicker glaze, add additional powdered sugar until consistency is met, for a thinner glaze, add additional plant milk until consistency is met

Once fully cooled, dip each doughnut into the prepared chocolate glaze and set them back onto the cooling rack so that glaze hardens a bit

Repeat until all doughnuts are glazed and sprinkled (if desired)
